Now that you've booked a session with Anastasia Buchter Photography. What's next?
It's time to start thinking about what you might wear. This guide is here to help you!
Everyone who books a session may wonder what they should wear, to look and feel amazing. I'll start by saying wear something that you are comfortable in.
COLOR COORDINATE, BUT DON'T MATCH
Start with a couple of colors you have in mind, and build everyone's outfits around those. To choose a color scheme, think about where in your home you want to display your photos, pick out outfits that will look great in that particular room.
In spring, light and airy colors look fantastic. A rainbow of light and airy hues include pale peach, blush pink, mint green, baby blue, creams, light gray, soft yellow, springs greens and lavender. In summer warm pinks and yellows look amazing, as do blues and aquas. ( note: Creams look amazing all year round! )
In Autumn it's all about browns, burnt orange, creams, mustard yellows and dark purples like mauve and aubergine.
Winter can be lacking in color outdoors, so the dark jewel colors are beautiful at this time of year. Emerald green, sapphire blue, dark purples and deep ruby red to name a few. Neutrals still look great in the winter too!
AVOID CRAZY LOGOS AND PATTERNS
Logos and patterns can be quite distracting to an image. Try and keep it simple if you can. Too many patterns can make your photos look messy, so best to stay clear. We want the focus to be on you! I would advise against stripes.
AVOID ALL WHITE, OR ALL BLACK
Sometimes if you are wearing an outfit that is all white, it might become "blown out" in the photos- this means there will be no detail image to see, and will just show as a white patch. The same can happen with all black, the areas become too dark and again, detail is lost. Creams and browns are a beautiful option.
IT'S ALL ABOUT TEXTURES
If you can, add some texture to your outfits. In cooler months a large cable knit cardigan will look great on Mama's, while retaining a tailored look. Little girls with textured tights would tie in great with this look. Add in some accessories that match your color palette to add depth to your outfits.
